Fri, 26 October 2007 ![]() This week we had another terrific trio of guests – and leading things off was Stephen Jones, our Author, Blogger, Speaker. Jones is a business and marketing consultant with www.GrowthStrategies.us and is very original in the way he approaches business growth – he literally gets paid for the results he produces – and it’s written right into the contract. You want ROI proven? You want solid, sustained growth in sales? Jones has the answers. For all the small to medium sized business owners out there, stuck on a growth plateau, or who are looking to grow their small business, we’d recommend you listen in, then call Stephen and mention the show to receive a free consultation from him – a $1000 value – but yours for the asking because you listen to UiP. Next up was our Business Booster, Doug McCrea, from Acquire Local. McCrea has a long resume from the Fortune 500 and he cut his teeth as a direct mail professional, but to the delight of entrepreneurs the world over, left that world to form a company that brings elite technology and data research to the smaller, local merchant. Seeking those who have a need to drive local traffic in the B to C forum, McCrea and his company have a proven formula for success that brings targeted, interesting, double opted in traffic to your doorstep. No need to worry about spamming your customers through their methods, in fact, just the opposite – they’ll be asking for more, and you’ll be there to provide the services and products they need. Give them a call today – contact sales manager Mark Steinbach at (773) 583-6910, or msteinbach@acquirelocal.com As Unique of the Week, we had the revolutionary company, and amazingly articulate guest, Kendall Borchardt of Capital City Financial Advisors on the show – and they are working on things that help a realtor, a CPA, a CFA and other investment advisors grow their businesses. Borchardt described how CCFA works in a variety of ways to help financial professionals better serve those they work with, and to grow their own businesses while doing so. Borchardt explained in easy to understand terms, this very unique approach that leverages some out of the box thinking. Essentially, CCFA partners can leverage for their clients equity repositioning – or the ability to invest against your home’s equity in retirement planning, college savings and more – plus the ability to provide advisor channel mortgages and allowing the financial professional to be compensated for advising the largest single financial transaction of the client’s life. This all leads to better client retention, cross selling opportunities with very little extra work and a certain added revenue source. Thu, 18 October 2007 ![]() Join us for another episode of the Business Growth Solutions show, Uniqueness is Power. Download the mp3 today and learn how to grow your business, who can help you save money or make business easier, and from others creating unique and original ideas and finding their niche. In today’s episode, hosts Lee Kantor and Andy Greider tackle the top reasons why businesses fail – and what you can do about it. For more information, be sure to listen in – not only do Lee and Andy cover the top things that sink a business, but also the best resources to help get around those issues. From poor planning to bad staffing, from inadequate time management to inconvenient physical location – to much more – there are a myriad of ways your business can sink (or learn, and swim.) One of the top reasons businesses fail is solved by this week’s Business Booster, Lee Doernberg of Liquid Capital. (www.liquidcapitalcorp.com/ldoernberg) Lee takes us through what factoring feels like for a small business owner, what makes his company a very unique and strong option over the many online “volume driven factor-ers online, and what forms factoring can take. We were surprised it is much more than just accounts receivable financing – and that he can work with people from small startups to larger companies, even on an international basis. Unlike a bank, factoring agents do not examine the business owner’s credit – they do that for the person they are dealing with – the payee of the invoice or purchase order. This means they can often say yes when the bank says no, at a rate of somewhere around 3% for each 30 days outstanding. As a small business, doesn’t it makes sense to let someone do the relevant credit checks, the manpower on the collection and turn over 70-80% upfront and then a total of at least 90% on the backend (if the invoice takes 90 days)? Work smarter, not harder, with factoring. From there, we moved onto our Unique of the Week, Penny Haynes of www.1stpod.com and www.onlinecommunitymagazines.com. Penny is amazing – a smart woman who has been a programming, designer and problem solver and is now helping business owners grow their organizations online with podcasting, vcasting, blogging and now online community “magazines – which need to be seen to be believed. Penny has been responsible for the dramatic growth of some businesses we know, including the launch of www.ivwcc.org with Jerrilynn Thomas and helping with PodCamp Atlanta 2007. She is articulate and knows more about using Web 2-3.0 technology to promote businesses than most people will ever glean, even in a decade or more to come. If you want to meet someone with a full scope and scale of how to leverage this powerful asset, speak with Penny today. Comments[24] |
Thu, 11 October 2007 ![]() We jumped right into the fray this week, as we had three guests who all lent a tremendous amount of insight, vision and assistance for our listeners. Each one brings very little theory and instead, a ton of practical experience to the plate. Beginning with Ruth King – author of “The Ugly Truth About Small Business and “The Ugly Truth About Managing People – plus owner of Ribbon and iBusiness Channel – we learned from true experience. Instead of basing her books in theory, she chose to highlight 50 case studies of “never saw it coming, it could happen to you small business traps and pitfalls in her first book, and then in the second, the same approach for managing people. Ruth is articulate, full of sage advice and a success story herself – please download the show and check out what she brings to the show and to her viewers on the iBusiness Channel each week. Next up we had Woodsson Woods of Woods Business Group as our Business Booster. For those either looking to buy a business or sell a business they own, these is often a lot more involved than first meets the eye. Woodsson puts together the team – presale/buy, during sale/buy and post sale/buy that gets the deal done. In his line of work, that’s the best deliverable you could ask for – that and to do so with deep understanding and integrity, which Woodsson brings as well. During the Business Booster segment, Woodsson outlines the way in which his company works and what to expect if you ever want to buy or sell a business. Finally, we had our Unique of the Week – and WOW! What a concept! What a personality! What a game! Amanda Brown, dating coach and creator of Playing the Field Card Game, Workbook and book, was our guest for a lively and free wheeling interview that really took the studio by storm. Tune in to learn more about what it means when she tilts her head or he raises an eyebrow. Tune in and learn how to get from first base all the way around to home run in Amanda’s conversation starter (and continuer) game Playing the Field. And finally, hear about the amazing kisses at the Emmy’s – all due to fairly innocent knowledge of the game – from the Bachelor and more. Buy the game today and play tonight. Our studio was boiling by the time this show was in the bag – we learned a lot about good business, bad business, buying business, selling business, monkey business and “that’s none of your business – all in one show. Thanks for tuning in and be sure to catch next week, when we’ll be back with more top guests and business building topics. ======== This week's show is brought to you by Carroll/White, with hosts Andy Greider and Lee Kantor. Fri, 5 October 2007 ![]() Wow! What a show! What a great time! What amazing information and guests! As we kicked off the second year of Uniqueness is Power, Lee and I were again fortunate enough to bring you two great guests - Amy Otto of AFLAC and Lance Edelman of Identification Verification Systems plus a baker's dozen of great marketing and sales tips to help grow your company. Be sure to listen in after you read the list, as we flesh these out to a robust 20 minutes or so of free, strong advice. Our Business Booster was Amy Otto, of AFLAC, who is a powerhouse, and also hosts Atlanta Business Radio on RadioX. She is a mom, a chef, a passionate SpoungeBob advocate, an ardent advocate for better healthcare and Kenny Roger's biggest fan. None of that interferes with her zeal and vigor, the light that shines in her eyes as she talks about her new work with AFLAC. Amy left a huge successful medical lab and research company to work for AFLAC after seeing how the new technologies were progressing but weren't making it far enough - and she knew she had a chance with AFLAC to help from the core out. In this episode, she covers how AFLAC helps businessess, helps employees, which plans there are - we like the Cancer Plan - WOW! - and how this costs employers nothing - in fact, can save them 7% on FICA even. Amy is the one AFLAC agent who can explain the "why" better than anyone else I've ever met - and she will help you make your company a better place. Drop her a line and ask for a free consultation. Our Unique of Week, was IDV-Systems.com CEO Lance Edelman. Lance, Lee and I all strived towards boiling down a complex idea - that of securing your applications from a central source, instead of each application having it's own measures, into laymen's terms - or at least ones Lee and I could understand. Lance did a great job articulating why this centralization is helpful, how it reduces points of failure and hacking, as well as lowers ongoing administration costs. Although none of us want to admit it, we all have gaps in our security on our programs, in our infrastructure and within our organization. Lance and his team will assure the logistics and the flow work properly with no change for the end user. Be sure to tune in and get some sage advice on how to make a better password - it is not as hard as you'd think - no need for remembering wierd U8what4lunch type deals...instead, tune in and learn from a 26 year IT vet, who is repaving the block on this trip around. Contact Lance to learn more. ==== This week's show is brought to you by Carroll/White, with hosts Andy Greider and Lee Kantor. Fri, 5 October 2007 ![]() Wow! What fun! I was lucky enough to guest host (filling in for Lee Kantor) with Amy Otto on Altanta Business Radio October 3rd, 10-10:30 am. Check out the blog for the full scoop and download the show. Rushing around from the Urban Professionals networking event to the show led to a full morning, but my batteries were instantly re-charged with the energy in the room during the show. Co-hosting a show with Amy Otto was such a delight, as she is the consumate professional and is tremendous at delving deeper into a guest's personality and raison d'etre than most good feature reporters. Be sure to check out her questions as she draws out the inner Jerrilynn. For my part, I was thrilled to be in the studio with 5 such powerful women. WOW! What an amazing consuit of energy, ideas, advice and power networthing all in 30 minutes. Be sure to listen in - and if you want to know more about what you are missing - or want to ability to networth with Jerrilynn, Nicco Duncan, Sandy Lomas, Penny Haynes and other high caliber women business owners, check out www.ivwcc.org I can say I will be joining up within the coming month - yes, men are allowed, as long as we can play nicely on a field we don't dominate... Thanks to Amy and to all the guests for having me on the show as co-host - I can't wait for the next time Lee is unavailable. Category: general -- posted at: 4:52 AM Comments[36] |
